A little game to pass the time since I'm just twiddling my thumbs.

The facts:

I am 36 weeks today.

The previous 6 children arrived between 34 weeks 1 day and 37 weeks 5 days.

They weighed between 5 lbs. 9 oz. and 7 lbs. 1 oz.

They measured between 18 inches long and 21 inches.

This baby girl is due December 2.  C-section is scheduled for November 24th (38 weeks 6 days).

Yesterday I "dropped."

The questions:

When will she arrive?

How much will she weigh?

How long will she be?

The points:

Five points for each correct guess.  I will accept the first correct guess only on each of the three questions.  So pick fast.  Leave a comment on this post.

One entry per person.

The prize:

Baby named after you!

Two pairs of beaded socks:

1.  Princess Blend - Pink, Purple, Blue
2. Christmas Blend- Red, opaque White, Green
On your mark.  Get set.  GO!

Beading, blogging, and brea.stfeeding (pumping anyway). I am Woman. alternate title: MORE WINNERS!

Guess what?  I cannot begin to describe to you how thrilled I am when someone I esteem as a totally awesome inspirational blogger comments on my blog, let alone subscribes or follows little ole me.  *sigh* I could die happy.  Truly, it makes my day.  Now, ahem, Kim, don't go unsubscribing just yet.  k?

Now that I've done my happy dance, and am seriously still grinning, I'm going to give out a pair of Valentine socks to the 3 runner-up commenters.  Because I like runners-up.  runner-ups.  those that run-up.  Okay, now that's just getting weird.  Moving along now...

So, if you want your Valentine socks to you before Valentine's Day, would the following three people please email me at FrozenWonderland(at)Yahoo(dot)com with your mailing address.

Julie
Lisa
That Girl (Maybe boy #4 will actually turn out to be That Girl's girl #1)

Yeah for more winners!

Surprise! Contest ends today.

I just couldn't wait any longer, so I'm ending the contest early.  I want Kim's little girl to get her Valentine's Day socks ASAP.  That's right, Kim at Mom Tried It wins the holiday beaded socks for submitting a name suggestion in my Blog nickname request contest!  And by the way, Kim has an AWESOME blog.  Go check it out.  I find myself plotting crafty, crafty things after spending time there.

Anyhow, she wins these three pairs of holiday socks.  Kim, please email me at FrozenWonderland(at)Yahoo(dot)com with your mailing address.
I loved ALL the names. even Charleston. lol  But the name I chose Danny actually suggested. Tater. We like food names. Can you tell?

I need a blog nickname for baby A. You could win some socks!

My dad a.k.a. Papa holding Baby A and Squdge.
I lifted this pic from his blog. But I'm not linking cuz then you'd see more pics of me that aren't so pretty.

I need a new blog nickname for baby A. currently referred to as, "Q. Mouse."  The problem is, all the kids' blog nicknames are actual nicknames we call them sometimes- except Q. Mouse.  So far, in his five months, he's not acquired a nickname that doesn't sound like his real name.  I don't really like how "Q. Mouse" sounds in a blog post.  As you may have recalled in previous posts, I do not use my children's real names on the blog and I do not use our last name.  But I'm completely open to a name that we won't ever really call him in our home.  Nothing obscene though.  Obscenities will be deleted.
So, hmm... I'm thinking of just calling him Bubba.  I know, I know, it's EVERYBODY'S nickname for their little boy.  I think Bubba and Squdge kind of go together.  or not.  Sheesh.  It's also my awesome photographer sister's energetic dog's name.

Leave some suggestions puh-lease!

The prize:  3 pair of beaded socks:  for little girl shoe size 6 - 2 1/2 Valentine's, spring, and patriotic beaded socks.  [See pictures at bottom of post.]

How to enter:  leave a blog nickname suggestion for a five month old twin boy that could grow with him (blogwise anyway)

Where I'll ship:  United States including Alaska and Hawaii - unless the winner lives overseas and wants to pay anything in excess of $4.00

Extra entry:  Create a post on your blog about it linking to this post AND leave me the link in the comments of this post.

Deadline: February 1st at 9:00 a.m. central time. Winner will be drawn at 10:00 a.m. central time. Socks will be mailed THAT DAY! For real!

Got it?  Your part is free.  Think of a name.  Leave it in the comments of this post.  Post about it for an extra chance to win.  I'll sort through the names and hopefully pick one.  Or he may end up going back to being called Baby A.  It's your duty to save the bloggity world from such a generic name.

Strep, Birthday, Contest!

I have strep. I feel just like a sore-throated phlegm-bot. I can't smell anything or taste anything. And today is the 4th of July. Today I was going to make baby back ribs for the first time ever! I keep blowing my nose hoping my sense of smell and taste will come back.

Today is also my mother-in-law's birthday. Happy Birthday!!

And some more good news for you... the long awaited contest. It's really a rather easy contest. Figure out what number post this is and email me to the email address listed as my contact info on my main page. If you are the first one to email me with the correct post number, you will win one of my friend Connie's FABULOUS APRONS!

I am not alone.

Thank you so much dear friends and family for helpful suggestions, ideas, and stories regarding weight-loss and also bedtime battles (and of course many other things but these are the most recent).

Just to clear some things up, I do not believe I am the only mother in the history of time who has ever had troubles trying to get her young ones to sleep. I know many of you have had your own trials and that's why I turned to you. So, thank you. I found each and every suggestion enlightening and helpful.

Right now I am currently the primary chorister at church. To those of you who are not LDS, this means I lead the children ages 3-11 in singing time. There are a few women in there that I get to visit with for a few minutes sometimes, but overall I miss the opportunity to mingle with the sisters in Relief Society. I miss hearing about other trials they overcome and being there to offer my love and support to another sister who may be going through something painful that I possibly went through.

And bonding all together while learning of Christ makes for a really wonderful meeting.

But I am blessed IMMENSELY being in primary and teaching the children music. Music is a language that I speak easily. I enjoy it and enjoy seeing the children learn and grow through it. And other than visiting teaching and occasional get-togethers, I have all of you my bloggity friends and family to turn to for parenting advice and to complain to about weather. hehe. So, without further rambling, I thank you my peeps. :) Stayed tuned for a contest this week.

We have a winner!

The winner of the random drawing for the ducky towel from all the comments on the Party Post is . . .

Lizbit!

Please email me your shipping address to FrozenWonderland(at)yahoo(dot)com. Congrats! And a great big Thank You to everyone who has contributed ideas. I will post after the party and tell y'all how it went and what we did!

It's not too late!

Even though I already have most of the party planned, if you have a fun idea, and click over to this post and leave your idea in the comments, you can still be entered for the drawing for the ducky towel. And even if you have no need of a ducky towel, I'm sure there is someone in your life in need of one. The drawing will be TOMORROW, October 15th, at 12 noon Central Time.

A date and prize have now been announced.

HotMama just asked me a question that G has been asking me about ten times a day, "When is the princess party?" Which has officially been changed to "princess party" from "fairy princess party." *Sigh of relief* Almost 4 year olds have to be sold on the idea before accepting change.

So, the party . . . it's on October 20th. I've got a better idea of how the big day will play out. But I need invitation help since I completely forgot to think about that. And I'm still welcoming more ideas on games, food, and decor.

And I finally have a prize to announce . . . drumroll please . . .

The winning name drawn from the comments on this post will receive a yellow ducky towel! So, I'm counting on y'all to save me time with all your fabulous ideas so I have time to sew up a ducky towel. And I'll pay up to $8.10 shipping. So if you're out of the U.S. or want it expedited, you'll have to pay the difference.

Kiddie Kwip

G (3 yrs. 11 months) said, "Momma, babies don't like to be incognito. Cuz then they could stop breathing."

Don't forget to look at this post and give me your creative birthday party advice. I'm going to draw a name at random from the contributing comments and award a prize. I'm still thinking about the prize. But there will be a prize nonetheless. So, please help me out. Another idea I have for the goodie bags are glow sticks. Not the easily breakable, leak toxic liquid kind. But the bendy kind you can attach to each other. I figure they could be magic wands, necklaces, bracelets, whatever.

I can hardly believe she's going to be four (the one in purple). This pic was taken last Thanksgiving at my parents' house in Happy Valley. Look at that Po-doggy reindeer. She's so patient.

Thank you to all who participated.

For all you limerick hopefuls out there, the 1st and 2nd place winners have already responded and their prizes are on the way. Thank you to all who participated. It was fun-- except the hate mail. haha. I may have to do more contests in the future.

Today I will smile, not scowl
And cheer with a shout, not a howl
It’s easy to see
Why I’m filled with such glee
I’ve just won a cute ducky towel!

Kent!

Some say that turning thirty is lucky,
That you should smile and act rather plucky.
But others profess
That it causes great stress,
Like a New Yorker trapped in Kentucky.

Now I think turning thirty is awesome.
You can still lift your cares and then toss ‘em.
And yet can expect
To get some respect
For your wisdom’s beginning to blossom.

But if thirty is leaving you yucky
Or mired in a mood that is mucky
Have some good grub
And a soak in the tub
And dry off with a towel that’s a ducky.

Maddielynn!

This yellow duck towel is so cute,
It's only for 1st place, but to boot
You are giving away
A cute basket (hooray!)
And that's all that I have now to say.

To send me your addresses, please email me at FrozenWonderland(at)yahoo(dot)com. Please put "contest" and your first name in the subject line. If the winner does not reply by midnight, March 20th, Maddielynn will become the first place winner and another second place winner will be drawn. If neither 1st or 2nd place winner responds, two new names from the top five will be drawn.

Happy Ducky Days to you!

Nikki’s FaBuLoUs MaRcH cOnTeSt

3/8/07 note added: This contest post will appear at the very top of my blog until the contest is over. For other new posts, see just below this one. The yellow hooded ducky towel is the one for the winner!

The white and colorful polka dot fabric is gingham and the pink plaid fabric is homespun. The pails I made my children are reversed-- plaid on the outside w/ coordinating handles, white and colorful polka dot on the inside.

Write a limerick and you could win a yellow hooded ducky towel. Tell your friends to enter. Spread the joy all over Bloggityville!

The month of March signals it’s Spring
Limericks it often doth bring
And my birthday be told
Makes me 30 years old
To win you must rhyme but not sing.

Submit a few limericks that rhyme
And you will be entered each time.
And if ye be anonymous
Sign your name at the bottomest
part of the comment section line.

The rules are to write something fun
Like I said you can write more than one,
Then enter them in
the comment section,
on THIS post starting March 1.

And you needn’t be 18 years old,
Or complain your old towels smell of mold,
Keep the rating to G
And soon you may be
The recipient of the ducky foretold.

The fine print--READ IT!
Contest runs from March 1st to March 17th in honor of St. Patrick’s Day and the day that my mom was due with me. But alas, I was late—poor Mom. You may enter up to three separate limericks. They can each have multiple stanzas. If you are submitting more than one limerick, make sure to submit it as a separate comment.

I will pick my top five favorites and have a drawing. To the winner of the best (G-rated) limerick goes a yellow hooded ducky towel (fits up to about age 3 years) and the second place winner will receive a homespun and gingham pastel Easter basket/pail like the ones I made for my children this year. Pictures will be posted soon!

Winners and their limericks will be posted on my blog on UPDATED INFO: March 18th. I reserve the right to delete any inappropriate or non-G-rated limericks from the comments section. Your limerick must be about either the joy of a hooded ducky towel or about me turning thirty. I will pay up to $8.10 shipping for each prize. If you are the winner and live farther away than that, and would still like to receive your ducky towel or Easter basket/pail, you will have to pay the remaining amount for shipping. If you don’t like the rules. Too bad. It’s my birthday.

Winners need not be present to win. Winners must respond within two days or new winners will be drawn. UPDATED INFO: I changed the date of announcing the winners to March 18th instead of the previously said March 21st, so they can receive them in time for Easter.

Contest myths debunked

To debunk any myths or misconceptions about my contest, ANYONE can enter. You do not have to have a child that would fit in the ducky towel (my five year old still uses it and he has a big head). You do not have to be 18 years old. I’d say that 90% of my ducky towel orders are for gifts for others. So, if you win and don’t have a child, you aren't a child, don’t plan on having one, or your youngest is in college, no guilt necessary. You won. You get the ducky towel. Do with it what you want. Give it away. Save it for later. They look so cute in Easter baskets.

Are you going to enter your limerick now?

How to Leave a Comment/Contest Update

Anyone can leave a comment on my blog or most blogs for that matter. To leave a comment on my blog, you have three choices for identity. After leaving your comment, enter the letters in word verification—so the computer knows you are a real live person. Then you can either click on “Google/Blogger” signing yourself in and linking to your blog. In this option, if you want to sign in but want your blog to be private and unavailable for other viewers, you can change that in the settings of your blog. The second option, the one I recommend if you do not have a blogger sign-in, is click on “Other”. This will ask you for your name and your web page. You do not have to enter a web page. You can leave it blank. You can also enter your first name only or nickname if that’s what you prefer. If you click on the third option, Anonymous, it will say, “Anonymous” before your comment and I won’t have any idea who you are. I prefer you NOT use this option. I like to know who is commenting. You can if you want though. And if you are entering Nikki’s FaBuLoUs MaRcH cOnTeSt, you must leave a name of some sort so you could possibly win.

Being the blog owner, I can delete any comment at any time.

About Nikki’s FaBuLoUs MaRcH cOnTeSt, I have created a link in the sidebar listed under CONTEST. Just click on the link and go to the comments section at the bottom of the contest post to enter your limerick. Try to write your limerick in as close to limerick format as possible for your best possible chance at winning.
