Grateful for my little balls of energy

I am grateful for these 2 little monkeys.

Tater on left, Squdge on right

We just bought a twin/full bunkbed.  These little guys share the bottom bunk and Bun sleeps on top.  I have been having the hardest time keeping them off of the top bunk today.

But this age is so quick to forgive, so full of energy, and so full of the funniest things to say.

About a week ago, I took this picture.  I had just sat down at my laptop to check upcoming cupcake and bread orders.  It was late-- like 9:45 p.m.

They came out of their room together and went straight into the kitchen.  I could hear them talking amongst themselves and trying to get something out of the sink.  I said to them,

"Come out of the kitchen and don't touch my ingredients.  It's time to go back to bed."

They responded in unison,

"But Mommy, we got ideas!!"

We are encouraging Tater & Squdge to feed themselves.

It helps that they insist on doing it too.  Squdge LOVES spaghetti.

They're very enthusiastic about the process.

They encourage Peach too.
They're proud of their work.

I was going to post again today.

First I had to catch up on like 437 blog posts in my reader.  Before I was done, the twins bounced a dozen oranges all over my kitchen and lowered the value of our Charlie Brown Christmas tree by biting a few ornaments, squishing some, and chucking a few more at the living room wall.

I just know one day I'll look back fondly on this Christmas and the innocence of their youth.  Maybe not this week . . .   or month . . . or year . . .

So you want to have twins part III

See this sharpie scribble on my cupboard?  It made my heart skip a beat.

Then I glanced around the kitchen, saw this and worked at it with the magic eraser . . .

while anticipating cleaning this (which should prove easier being a smoother surface than cupboard fronts) . . .

when this happened.

That's when I lost it and yelled, "Why?  WHY?!
I could get you the things you need if you'd stop with the messes!"

Then I had to comfort two little twins reduced to puddles of tears.
Then Danny had to comfort me.
*sigh*

So you want to have twins part II

I was sitting at the computer logging my breakfast into MFP

The twins Tater & Squdge were dancing around the living room to The Silly Pizza Song from Signing Time.  Eight month old Peach was crawling around innocently all cute and pink.

One of them yelled out, "Potty!"

I whipped around in my office chair to see BOTH 23-month olds with their cloth diapers half off.

I decided it was time to log out and right this situation.

"Ooh!  Bring them here please," I said in my most convincing and sweet/you're-not-going-to-get-chastised voice.

As if it was planned, they bolted to the play room sat down and pottied on the carpet at the same time.

So you want to have twins

I just know that one day I won't need to check my hair brush and claw clips for toothpaste before using them.
