Yesterday morning I awoke to a soaking wet Hammy sweetly saying, "Mommy, I potty my bwankie."
This morning I was sleeping on the couch with a twin that decided he was hungry at 5:55 a.m. I fell back asleep after changing both babies, giving one a bottle, and putting on the show, Baby Neptune. Then Hammy calls me out from my slumber, "MOMMY!!!!! Get da POOP off of meee!!"
So, how is the training going you ask?
grrr.
He has nighttime accidents 6 out of 7 days a week.
He potties in the toilet consistently.
He poops in his pants consistently.
The good news is we've only used 252 diapers in the past three weeks.

Oh, Nikki! I'm sorry it's going so badly at night. Have you considered using pull-ups just at night? Michael was fully potty trained at the age of 3, but he slept in pull ups until he was almost 5. That was more for our peace of mind than for his accidents, particularly after he hit 4 or 4 1/2 or so.
If you do try the pull-ups at night only, just remember to take them off the minute he gets out of bed! Michael has a friend, who is 8, and he still sleeps in nighttime underwear (!!!), and he won't take them off until he goes to the bathroom in them in the morning (!!!!!!!). Bad parenting, yes - but unfortunately, she's trained him to use the diaper instead of the toilet.
Sorry that it is not going much better.
We just got off the potty train, and I AM EXHAUSTED!!! While he is completely potty trained in my book, we still use "nighttime underwear." At the moment they are in the form of Pull-ups. However, as soon as I get my sewing room set up, I am sewing some prefold cloth diapers (how did I ever get so many?!)into some boxers and boxer briefs that are slighly larger than they need to be. I'll probably sew in some homemade soakers (in the middle of the prefolds) to make sure we don't leak. I'll let you know how it goes!
Good luck!
Laura- I just got out the package of Pull-ups I've been hiding so as not to be tempted. I'm using now for nighttime. Hmm... Come to think of it, I'm not sure he's in one now.
Laureena- That is a really good idea. We have like four dozen prefolds, homemade soakers, and doublers as well. Maybe I'll give that a try! I'd rather he wake up wet knowing he doesn't like the feeling-- but not wet the entire bedding.
Ugh. Frustrating! I hated potty training. My girls were fine- it was my BOY that about did me in. You'll get through this. You MIGHT even laugh about it someday (though today is NOT that day!)
Wow, I can't believe I somehow missed this post!
Argh, I officially don't like potty training. I read somewhere online that the average potty training time for a kid is 8 months. I sure hope he figures it out faster than that!
Patience and love...rewards and smiles. He'll get the hang of it. Do Pookie and Bun help Hammie? little brothers often look up to the big brother's example.
