I just called my doctor's office and told them that I had a nightmare last night and so I was calling with a question.
"Okay," said the nurse inquisitively.
"Do you have epidurals at the local hospital?"
"No, not epidurals," she replied.
My heart skipped a beat.
Trying desperately not to burst into tears I said, "Well what do you do?"
She explained to me something called an ITN.
I asked her, "Does that work long enough to get two babies out and me not feel a thing?"
Her comforting reply, "I hope so."

Oh you poor thing! I'm sure things will be fine- but I hate pregnancy dreams- they're hardly ever good. :)
You are too funny. It's pretty similar to an epidural, I think. I forget exactly what's different. However, with all your practice, I bet if you had to, you could get two babies out without the ITN.
I managed with Mikey and he was a big baby and had his hands on his head! I wasn't necessarily planning on doing that, but when I asked for the drugs, it was too late. :-(
I will pray for you....so do you have to drive to a farther hospital that HAS epidurals?
I have to laugh at her honesty! She was probably worried about a pregnancy meltdown with her response, lol!
And I'm with Rach above - CAN you drive further to a hospital that does have epidurals?
I love the fact that you are already thinking about those drugs. You put a smile on my face!
I was supposed to deliver my first child at a local military hospital. When I realized that they didn't provide epidurals, I promptly booked an extended trip to visit my mom. My hometown doctor delivered my baby (with an epidural)--I couldn't have been happier!
ha ha ha! I will be praying for you. I had a lot of anxiety with a couple of my pregnancies.
I do think that 2 babies and not feeling a thing is a bit optimistic.
Blessings,
Kimberly
97 days left! You keep those boys in there for as long as you can.
I'm sure the delivery will be wonderful. You will have one baby out to focus on, so maybe that distraction will make any pain you may have with the second be managable.
I hope so? man! Why do they not have an epideral? She could of said something more comforting than "I hope so". Geez!
Have you found out yet what an ITN is exactly? I'm certain they will take very good care of you. I delivered a few of my babies without drug help (women have been doing it that way for a very long time...) - but it's not fun! You have a good doctor and I'm sure everything will be OK.
