I have a full-size electric Yamaha Grand piano now. It can record my songs I write.
Yes, we do have a new television and XBOX. But we don't have cable. We get Netflix because of the flexibility of when to watch shows and the Shoppette here on base doesn't get a whole lot of movies. Also, we don't have to venture past our porch to return the movies. We got an XBOX to play games together. It had been 273 days without one. And now that the weather is cooling off and soon we'll be facing a frozen tundra of death, beading socks while watching movies sounds like a good time to spend the evenings when the children are in bed.
The socks. Sheesh. It all started when Gabbers' friend Brittney gave her a pair for her fourth birthday. They were the perfect blend of pink, purple, and blue. I could hardly peel them off of her to wash them. She wanted to wear her "princess socks" all day long AND sleep with them on at night. So I called my friend Candace and asked her some specifics on making them. Soon Gabbers had half a dozen pairs. Then I was addicted to making them. So I made them for nieces that wore the same size. Gabbers requested that I make some for a couple of her friends here. I did. I made about two pairs per girl. Little did I know, I was getting them addicted too. I made some for my bloggity friend's girls too. Seeing as I have only one little girl and must find someone else's little girl to make socks for, I made some for Jen's little girls too. And now...
When we went school shopping for Pookie and I saw all the adorable little girl shirts, I bought a couple for Gabbers and made some socks to match P.E.R.F.E.C.T.L.Y. to them. They are so adorable that I insist she wear skirts, shorts, or roll up her pants with them so I can see them. But if I can see them, so can everyone else. And now...
I am getting sock requests DAILY. Everyone wants princess socks for their little princesses. So, stay tuned. Within the week I will post prices, colors, and sizes.

That color combination is so adorable! Reminds me of chocolate dipped strawberries. Anyway, my girls LOVE them and wear the ones you've sent to us daily. Aunty Nikki is the best!
Looks like fun, don't let Little Girl see them, she might be begging me for some :)
so how do you wash the socks? Just like regular socks? I wouldn't think the beading would stay intact for multiple washings.
We definitely love our Bead socks!!
Amy-
You just wash the socks like you would any pair of white socks. No need for a garment bag or anything. We hang the socks over the drying rack to dry instead of machine drying to keep the beads sparklier longer. I have never had the beads come off and her first pairs I made for her were back in November or December. They are crocheted on with #10 white crochet thread.
You should have got a Wii instead. We have an X-BOX as well but it isn't as much fun for the whole family. However now that we have the Wii it is fun for everyone and the games tend to be more affordable and family friendly. Plus the kids can use the controllers easily. The X-box really only got used by Chris and occasionally me (yourself fitness) You should come over and play sometime, it is a great family home evening activity. Bowling for free! Maybe next time just pack them away in storage--it is cheaper that way.
I love that you are so much like me when it comes to becoming addicted to things!! You have no idea! I think that Gabbers should definately roll those pant legs up, cos those socks ROCK!! You should rent Penelope from Nerflix, you would love it!!
Such cute socks!! And definitely, no matter how cold it gets, pant rolling is a must, so those super cute socks can show. Hey you can even pull them up and have them show over the top of snowboots in the winter. The possiblities are endless!!
Hmm, we'll have to think about getting some of those for Emma, she would totally love them.
Those socks are suh-weeet! I want some for me...forget my daughter, I needs me some beaded socks!
I love anything that is pratical, but can still make a girl feel like a princess. Everyone needs socks why not have fun with them. :)
Yay for cute socks, making a little extra money, and good movies while you do it!!!
okay so I am still waiting for pricing.........I really do want to get some more and I refuse to start another project and do them myself so you are now my shopping center!
We love our socks! And have gotten lots of compliments on them. Thank you!
