Our changing table is in the hall between the rooms. There is a shelf with bedtime stories above the changing table. We have a mobile attached to the underside of the shelf to entertain the diapered folk while they are being changed. This evening, 5 minutes after putting Bun to bed for the 37th time, I heard creaking sounds. I snuck up the stairs to find Bun standing on the changing table trying to start the mobile. This is the conversation we shared:
Me: And what do you think you’re doing?
Bun quickly lays down on the changing table and says: Change.
Me: Oh you need a change huh? Sometimes I think you pee just so I’ll play the mobile for you.
Bun: Hmm…
Me: What is the smug little Bun-bear look?
Bun: It not smug.
Me: No, not smug? What is it then?
The now speechless Bun just shrugs and smiles sweetly. I finished changing him and he says, “I wuv you Mommy.” How can I stay upset with a Bun escapee?

Awwwww. I have a feeling "I wuv you Mommy" will fix about anything. What a sweetie!
Maybe he was thinking: I love my really mommy erin, but you are nice to look at for now...until I am reunited with her...
