Yesterday we went to Applebee’s restaurant to celebrate. We had coupons for all three kids but found out that on Tuesday nights, kids eat for 99¢ anyways. I was pretty sure this meant something like a corndog and a few French fries though. But no, it was any meal on the kids menu.
So Pookie ordered the chicken fingers with French fries, G requested chicken fingers with broccoli trees, and we ordered grilled cheese and French fries for Bun.
All three kids got chocolate milk and also an ice cream sundae included as well. The best part, the little coloring book/menu and crayons to occupy them before the food came. But 99¢ a kid was a lot cheaper than finding a babysitter and a much better deal than McDonalds.
There was plenty leftover that we brought home. (I also got a free birthday sundae and an embarrassing song to go with it.) So I guess my Works-For-Me-Wednesday works only on Tuesdays—at least here in the frozen north.

Wow, I'm gonna have to check our Applebee's and see if that deal's good there! It's very near our house, and I happen to like it very much.
Thanks for the tip!
We don't have children but I'll be passing this along to other parents I know. You're right, much better than fast food!
Thanks for the great tip! (o:

What a great tip! We loved getting deals when the kids were little. Like "all you can eat salads" for 50 cents per year of age at Izzy's. Our little girl loved salad and ate platefuls of it.
That works for me!! Hot dog, I mean chicken nuggies and broccoli trees. Tuesdays is a good night for us too. Love this!
Nice! We may be going out to eat at Applebee's next Tuesday night. :)
Thanks for the tip!
That's a great idea. Here at O'Charleys, kids eat free any nite but it's a little more than applebees.
My hubby likes AppleBees so we may go there this friday....wonder if that works with the coupons I have too?
Happy Birthday!
Thanks for sharing! I definitely know where we will be going on an upcoming Tuesday night!
Here in the Ozarks, there is a booklet that is published that shows all the restaurants that have those special "kids night" prices. Surely they have those in other towns...wouldn't know how to find out about it though.
I did not know that! I'm going to check with our Applebee's.
Thanks!
Heck, that's just about £0.50. WOW!
Bit late on my WFMW visits, sorry.
great tip! $.99 is a steal. You reminded me -- If you guys have an IKEA anywhere around where you live, kids eat for $.99 there too (and the food is surprisingly good).
Thanks :-)
Nikki, I just realized that I didn't call you and say happy birthday...I thought about it before your birthday and obviously now after, so happy birthday before, during and after...now you are old! hahaha
Restaurants are SO smart that do that. It hardly costs them anything and parents go ga-ga over the good deal. My husband and I are 90% more likely to visit a place we know is "kid friendly" like that, especially if they have deals like Applebees. And my little girl loves eating out with us. I love that you took all your kids with you for your birthday dinner. I'm sure they appreciated you wanting to include them in the celebration!
Excellent knowledge to pass on to everyone with kids - yum.
