In which the hospital releases the Nikki hostage but keeps the baby

I realized it's been nearly a week since I updated.

I was discharged from the hospital Monday afternoon.  Biscuit is still in the NICU learning how to eat.  At least all her breathing problems are resolved.  We're hoping to have her home in the next few days.

Biscuit shows signs of a posterior tongue-tie (like the last three babies).  After realizing how long it would take to sue the insurance company (long story), we've decided the best and quickest course of action is pray for a miracle.  Yesterday when I visited her at the NICU, she latched on just fine and didn't click, or dimple her cheeks, or bite.  She didn't nurse very long (like maybe 3 or 4 minutes), but it was a huge improvement.

She has a tiny hole between the bottom two chambers of her heart.  The doctor believes it won't cause any problems and could possibly close up, but recommended her to see a Cardiologist at 2 months old.

I've been working on healing.  I'm surprised how much muscle I lost in the time on bedrest-- and how low my energy is.  I'm not very surprised about my low energy seeing as I lost a full quart of blood over the course of 2 1/2 days.  I'm taking my iron pill daily and my prenatal multi-vitamin.

Leslie has been running the show and holding down the fort.  She's amazingly calm and organized.  I'm pretty sure I've shortened her life by a few years and given her a few new gray hairs.
