Birthday Thoughts

Today is officially the start of the last year of my not-yet-middle-aged life.  I'm 34 today.

When I woke this morning I realized, menopause, diabetes, and arthritis were just around the corner.  And I got scared.

Nikki, Don't do this to the both of us!! I'm approximately 12 years older than you, and I don't want to know about what's around the corner! It needs to stay hidden. But I do hope you have a fantastic birthday, full of sticky kisses and bear hug squeezes!

Love,
Susan

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Silly you--your worries about old age ailments are around SEVERAL more corners because you are a mere babe in the woods.

Enjoy the day!

Happy Birthday!! I'm almost 5 years ahead of you, it's not too bad so far...

Breast-fed babies have less chance of getting diabetes than they would have had on formula, so you're ahead there--never had an ounce of formula ever. As far as menopause goes--that is NICE! Trust me on that one! Arthritis, well, we won't go there. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday, Nikki! You are in a wonderful time of life. Of course I can say that because I'm not there quite yet... :)

But remember what Marjorie Hinckley said about her 50's? That they were the best years of her life? Just THINK of everything you have to look forward to! Don't be scared yet. Yes, arthritis and menopause are in your future (mine too), but you know what else is? Teenagers. Then, college students. Boys on missions, and all the blessings that brings. Weddings and grandbabies! Hilarious family videos! Nights of full sleep! And so many laughs and smiles they'll out number the sands of the sea.

Like I said, Happy Birthday. Make it a fabulous one!

Happy Birthday! 36 was the hard birthday for me- felt like I was "pushing 40". Now that I actually AM pushing 40 (I'm 39), it's no big deal.

Enjoy year 34! That one was a great year for me!

I just gets better from here. As your kids grow up and become more independent, the aches and pains will not get worse, just change.
