Raise your hand if you've found a nicer way to get the dishes done.

If I use rubber gloves when I wash the dishes, I get a lot more done.  Why?  Because I can handle the super hot water and the prolonged time with my hands in the dishpan.

I'm a bit fanatical about getting the dishes really clean.  So lukewarm, bubbleless dish water with an orange hue is not going to work for me.

I need fresh piping hot soapy water to get my dishes clean.  And if I'm going to commit myself to running a dishpan of hot soapy water, I'm probably going to wash all the dishes

Bonus: my hands have less hang-nails and rough cuticles this way.

This simple tip Works for me so I'm tossing it into the Tip Jar at Blog Mommas and sharing it also at Couponomic Stimulus Package's Tuesday's Tips.

Great Idea! I can't stand hang nails. Especially when I don't have a clipper to clip them with.

I'm so sure you are right, but I.just.can't.stand the feel of gloves!!! I'm weird I know, but for some reason, I need to be able to feel my dishes to make sure they're clean. My hands have gotten used to much hotter water over the years, but.... It's still a great tip and I'm sure someone who doesn't have serious issues of craziness(OCD;) will benefit greatly!!! ;) Thanks so much for linking up.

I got some gloves for free at WAGS last fall, so when my hands were cracking this winter, I decided to see if they were really all they had been praised to be... they ARE!!

I totally despise dirty dishwater. Back when we washed all our dishes by hand, I would whip out the gloves just to avoid contact with stuff like...gag gag gag...soggy bread...gag gag gag...

One mini-tip: when Cody would wash dishes, he'd always fill up a bowl full of the hot soapy water and set it to the side of the sink. Then he would dip the brush in the suds, keeping one side of the sink full of dirty dishes soaking in hot (for me, sudsy) water, then a bowl of really really clean soapy water for the actual cleaning, and lastly, the other side of the sink for rinsing. worked for us.

Now the best thing that works? our dishwasher. :)

I like that you can get gloves in colors besides Yellow. That makes it a bit more exciting to clean.

Gloves are fantastic!! It's so nice that they make smaller sizes now. I used to use them but I could really handle to many dishes because the gloves felt so huge!

Great tip!

I have gloves, I run across them when I looking for stuff, but I just never seem to use them. Maybe I'll set mine out and give them a try tonight!

I like your tip. I just starting using them and I like doing dishes a lot better now. I am very skeevy (is that a word?) about getting my fingers in all the cold, cake don gutter.

I have yellow though, now. I really want pink ones now! I'll bet then I wouldn't be able to dig in and get workin!

:)

I make The Husband do the dishes and I avoid the whole situation. :) Well, not really, but I would like to pull that off.
