Umm honey, you're looking a little chunky there. alternate title: Random nonsense on an unseasonally warm Monday afternoon

Danny asked me the other day, "Do you actually do any of those crunches?"  Nice huh?  Then in his defense he said, "It's just that I never see you do them."  I explained to him that I just barely added it back to my sidebar and I usually do them as soon as I see a comment so I don't have to do a whopping 25 crunches all at once.  And I definitely do not do crunches in front of him so he can see me huff and puff away before reaching a meager 10.

My plan is to surprise him one day with a suddenly slim and svelte Nikki.  Where did this gorgeous trim wife come from?  I can almost hear him say.  Have you been working out?  You'd never guess you had six babies in the last 7 1/2 years.

Perhaps it may sound something more akin to this:

"Honey, why are you walking slumped over?  Were you trying to do stomach crunches again?  Don't you know I love you even in your grand stage of life?  You have an excuse," he says as he tries desperately to make slightly loose skin around his waist look like pudgy love handles.  "It's just late night snacks with me.  You have six kids to show for it."

"Nah," I say, "I was fat before having kids.  Pass the hot cheetos please."

hahaha, you are so funny. I love reading your blog,
Keep those crunches going. Oh, and by the way having 6 kids in 7 1/2 years is a fine excuse for not being as fit as you want. No complaints here.
xoxoxo

Forget the crunches- I'm still blown away by the 6 babies in 7 1/2 years. Now I've got to check your sidebar to see if any of them are twins. Yowza girl! I'm impressed. If Hot Cheetos help maintain your sanity, then enjoy!

Okay- that's right. I forgot you are also a twin Mama. Now I'm double impressed. I was lucky enough to have my twins first- before having other kids to take care of. I don't know how you manage it having them as your youngest. Wow again!

No worries...and pass me some hot cheetos too. I've decided my new motto in life is, "you can never be too fat and happy." I'm happy when I don't care about what I'm eating. So be happy.

Too funny! And by the way, I remember looking at one of your pregnant photos of you and the twins and thinking how trim you looked everywhere except the belly (of course... people we're growing inside you!). I'm sure the only "untrim" thing on your body is your belly, and give me a break, you are only 3 months postpartum from having TWINS! I always have my postpartum belly from a singleton hanging around at their 1 year birthday. lol

(Oh, I haven't had hot cheetos in years, but I remember loving them. Enjoy!!)

Don't beat yourself up. The weight didn't come off of me until my last (6th) kid was about 18 months. Then little by little it came off and now I weigh a few pounds less than when I got pregnant with the first.

I like ya big...I like ya chunkyyyyyy...

I hear that often from 4 year old Emily these days. I try and just tell myself that she really, really likes Madagascar 2 and it's not a reflection of her love for my expanding plumpness, he he.

I think 6 kids is a perfectly good reason for being not as slim and trim as you'd like (though you're still a beautiful, hot mama at any size!). I'd take on an additional 10 or 20 pounds or more if I could have another baby. :) Of coure, lately I'd offer up a certain 40 pound 4 year old in trade for almost any other kid, baby or not until these tantrums stop.
