The OB appt or "Hey fatso time to tie them up"

I have decided that the OB I saw yesterday will most definitely not be my OB for the rest of this pregnancy. grr! It didn't sit well with me, leave a good impression, or endear me to him when he said at the start of the exam after squishing my belly, "You have a big belly . . . you want your tubes tied?" Whattheheck?! Are those really related? Could you have possibly breathed a little after the belly comment before the question?

He hardly did a regular appointment exam at all claiming my records weren't there yet even though I walked in in-person two weeks prior to sign the official consent form. He asked the nurse to schedule me an ultrasound for FOUR weeks from now. But thankfully due to some scheduling conflicts with a meeting or something he had it scheduled for about three weeks, May 27th at 2 p.m. But still, I'm on the hunt for a different OB. I keep trying to convince myself that it may not matter at all if I can get in to a specialist anyway. I'm not convinced yet.

Still homeless. Even if we did get word today that we got a house we offered on, it would still be 6 1/2 weeks before we got into it. That would put me at 27 weeks. I fear at that point I will be on bedrest. I had NO idea it was this difficult to buy a house. I can't begin to describe to you how many houses we offered on for the full price they asked or MORE. I thought if someone was selling a house for eleventy-fourple dollars and you said, "Yes, I'd like to buy your house. I'll give you eleventy-fourple dollars," then it was a deal and the paperwork would follow. I'd like my big sparkly "D" for Doofus to permanently adhere to my forehead now. Squid probably know more than I do about home-buying.

On a happier note, tomorrow we get to go see Monsters vs. Aliens at the base movie theater. I'm hoping the short people get a discount rate since it takes two to a seat to keep it from collapsing on them.

I can NOT believe that ob!! I'm so sorry you had to listen to him. I would most definitely find a new ob.

As far as the ultrasound, if you were anxious (like me!) to find out, you could look up local stand alone places. We've gone with our last 2 to a freestanding place and it only cost $35. That was with pictures and a dvd.

I may have missed it in the previous posts, but why are you buying a house (verses leasing or living on base)? Are you guys plannign to stay in the area more permanently, or would you just sell and buy at whatever the next location would be? As you can tell.... I'm very military dense.

What an idiot OB! Sheesh! I hope you can find a different one or get in to see a specialist.

And I really hope that you guys can find a house soon! That is frustrating about having them ask for more.

You should have said, "Thanks for your opinion nurse, can I now speak to the real doctor" What a crack pot!

Maybe you aren't supposed to buy a house.

Those blasted OB's! Who do they think they are especially when they themselves have one never had a baby and two never carried one while in North Dakota where 9 months of the year is designated to weight gain! Don't worry I think you look great!

Some people have no bed side manners! I know its a pain to hunt around for drs. especially when you have other little ones and DH work to schedule around AND new to the area! Sorry your house hunting is terrible. I have a few guesses why. Anyway, I hope you get into a house soon!

If you decide to give up on house hunting, I think my next door neighbors are moving soon (they rent) and they have a 4 bedroom house.... As for OB's, I'm sorry he was a jerk, but can't say I'm shocked. This other person I know goes to him and he keeps telling her she's gaining too much weight and she weighs (at like 7 months pregnant) 125 lbs!! He's a jerk. Give me a call if you need some opinions on S.M. OBs. :-)

So, I was trying not to laugh at the blog because what you wrote about is serious but you just have this amazing way with words that I could not help it. I hope the house thing speeds up. No fun bing homeless!!

Sounds like you picked a real winner for an OB. What happened to the Dr. you went to when you lived there before? I once had an OB tell me after a misscarriage that I should pray harder, and then I could have a baby. Maybe these two went to the same school. What an @$$. Oh I better stop and keep it clean.

Good luck on the house hunt I'm also shocked that this is not working out I thought this was a buyers market. There are pleantly of things for sale by me, and I'm sure you could get a great deal.

Wow! Sounds like a big jerk! I'm sorry things aren't going great. Hopefully you can find a decent doctor before too long. And, hopefully, someone will "let you" buy their house. Sheesh! I can't believe that!

We're kind of in the same boat too... living in TLF until I'm 35 weeks pregnant. So, I sympathize. Best of luck to you and your family!

Hey Nikki! Twins, WOW! You are amazing! By the way your children are beautiful and I'm sure these two new little ones will be stunning as well! CONGRATS! That was quite the OB visit you had. Seriously did he skip the whole "bedside manners" class...or maybe he just failed that class...turkey! Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and wish you luck with the babies and everything thing else you guys are doing! -Tiffany
