Play-Doh

After naps and after Pookie got home from school, I let the three oldest play with Play-Doh. I hate Play-Doh. The way it smells. The way it looks with five colors smooshed together. The way it sticks in dining chair cushions and Bun's fleece pants. Hate it enough to write several fragments in a row about it. Hate it. So I felt pretty good about myself as a mommy to let them play with it today. They played with it a long time while I sat at the computer a little over 10 feet away so I couldn't see the disrespecting of the Play-Doh colors' boundaries. They even cleaned it up pretty good too. Of course, I didn't peek at all in the little containers to see how mixed they were. I just wiped up the little bitty crumbs that were left on the table.

I think I've come a long way as a mommy tolerating this.

But I still hate Chutes & Ladders. vehemently. Another post, another time.

Way to go mommy! I hate the way Play-Doh smells as well. It probably smells worse because of the pregnancy as well. You are a good mom.

I've seen some recipes around the blogosphere about edible play doh made with koolaid and such so it smells nice.

I don't mind any of those things except the mess!! Argh!! I hate all the little crumbs and pieces. I love it when my kids leave it out and I can throw it away. Oh, sorry, it got ruined. Bummer. Such a non sympathetic mom....

You, are being a very tolerant mom!

I hate the mixing of the colors, too! I don't even know why they make more than 1 color - it all becomes a brownish blob anyway.

I hate regular play dough too. However, I LOVE homeamde playdough. takes forever for it to actually dry up when left out, holds together better, and doesn't smell weird. I refuse to buy regular playdough again. Thankfully, homemade play dough recipes enerally ameka good amount, so the work I have to put out to make it, is rare.

I don't allow Playdough in my house. I never buy it... Of course, grandma is not exactly a respecter of all my rules...
