A first for us.

So guess who cut her hair today? I'll give you a hint. Her name starts with "G" and ends with "abbers" and she lives in my home.

It's my fault. I was just thinking last week, I wonder when Gabbers will try and cut her own hair. Hmm... or maybe Pookie or Bun will cut her hair. Should be any day now. They now have their own scissors and four seems about the right age to cut your own hair.

Luckily, she has a double crown, which causes a big chunk of hair to constantly go in her face. That is where she chose to cut. Amazingly, it doesn't look so bad. She just has a lot of bangs now. But they're not too short. Pics later.

That's great that it still looks good. I always seem to get those thoughts before the event happens..hopefully next time I will act on it. Can't wait to see the new do.

Nikki, I just found your blog! Gosh, I am finding out that a lot of people I know have blogs... I could spend hours reading them--and reading their friends blogs, etc, etc. I had no idea what I was getting into when I decided to join the 21st century!

I can't believe you made it clear to 4 without a hair cutting incident. I think my little princess was 2 the first time she cut baby brother's hair. And since then she has cut her own hair at least three times. (Watch out! The first time is not necessarily the last time!) She finally quit when I threatened to shave her bald! ;) At this point she wants so bad for her hair to grow long "like mommy" that I am hoping we are in the clear.

Happy late Birthday. :)

Too funny. Yep, that's just about the right age.

One of my big guys cut his hair over and over in Kindergarten and First grade. Every time, I'd fix it so he wouldn't look horrible. Finally, I got fed up and just left it dorky. I did write a note to his teacher though, so she wouldn't think I did the hideous haircut. Actually, I think that was the last time he did it. Maybe I just needed to let him live with the consequences of his behavior.

You sure are lucky with the cut hair. Even when I cut my own hair, sometimes I screw up royal. One thanksgiving, I was triming my hair and made a big mistake on one side, and tried to even it out on the other and ended up "butching" my hair (1/8 inch long). It almost made me look bald with red hair. I came out of the bathroom with a hat on, and my wife asked me why the hat, and I took it off, and everyone began to laugh!

My youngest was very scissor happy and was frequently cutting her cute curly locks, the ties off her dresses, paper, books, and even the cat. We tried to keep scissors hidden from her, but the little scamp would start cutting away whenever she found a pair. We have some interesting photos of her hair cuts and the short fixed-up results. Glad she grew out of that phase - although her current teen phase is much more scary!

After reading your blog and then talking to a friend who did this recently, I became somehow jinxed. Ben cut some of his hair yesterday, but only maybe a half inch, so he looks normal:-)

My DD has done it twice. She was five the first time she did it and cut like five inches off the side of her head, we had no choice but to do the whole thing. The funny part was the only way I found out she had done it was that I found the evidence on the side of the couch. Her hair is such a rat's nest by the end of the day that I didn't notice five inched had been hacked off the side. And she lopped off little brother at the same time, we just had to shave him.

When she did it again was when I was out of town house hunting about eight months later and she decided that she really wanted bangs.

Good luck.

We have 2 double crowns! They are difficult to keep looking neat.

Nikki, I changed my blog AGAIN. Would you mind coming over and telling me your honest opinion?

Ahhh, is this what I have to look forward to? I butcher my daughters hair enough...I don't need both of us doing it. Trouble, on the other hand, won't let me touch his hair. But I'm sure he would love to lop of a bit of his sisters....
Love your blogs!!
