Playdough to the Rescue!

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I just read this post about making glittery Valentine's Day playdough. I love it! My kids will be so excited to find this at the end of their treasure hunt.

Just today I was lamenting about how painful it is for me to see my kids squish and squash together six different colors of playdough into one ball. The cure? Pink playdough. And no other colors.

By the way, I had a not-so-nice-mommy-moment today. I threatened the three oldest that if they did not pick up the playdough and end up leaving it to dry out, I would throw it away. And I secretly delighted in the absent-mindedness of their youth and actually HOPED they would forget to put it away. In the end, I vacuumed it up. Tomorrow all will be forgiven with pink sparkly magically cupid-filled playdough.

A super big Thank You to Erica.

That's my favorite recipe, it lasts really well in a ziploc bag. I like to use a package of unsweetened Kool-Aid to color it, plus then it smells absolutely mouth-watering (so good you have to make sure the kids don't try to eat it).

What a fun play dough idea!

By the way, that is a not-so-nice mommy moment? I end all our play dough events like that it seems. :P But it's more just a matter of fact. "If it gets left out, it will dry up and can't be used again and we'll have to throw it away." Or I could just not say it and then leave them a hard rock in their play dough containers to dicover what happens the next time. hmmm.....

I'm glad you liked the tip! My daughter is IN LOVE with this playdough since we made it yesterday.

I hate when the colors get mixed too :)

Oh my! I missed this yesterday or I'm sure I would have been making a bunch of play dough, but I love this for a birthday gift to take to a friend, or to have for favors. Great link Nikki, thanks!!
