My Unsolved Mystery

My parents are out of town for the weekend. I've been assured (read Mom called me last night and said, "What is this 'To Be Continued...' business?!" I told her, "Oh you know, then my readers will come back to read the rest of the story. Don't worry I'll probably post it tomorrow or Saturday." She then said, "I won't be here. You know we're going down to Moab for our anniversary." I said, "That's okay. It'll still be on my blog Monday when you get back. You'll just have to scroll down to it." But clearly that was unacceptable to her and so she already knows the end of the story. What can I say? She's my mom.) that they won't have access to my blog while gone celebrating their 35th anniversary. I feel the need to get this off my chest after reading this post from Confessions of a Pioneer Woman this morning. You'll have to wait for the rest of the other story. ;)

Way back sometime between the end of last century and the start of this one when Danny and I were living with my parents in a couple rooms in their basement before we had kids, I woke to find myself completely al fresco. This was very unusual seeing as how I was always clothed when I went to sleep.

"Danny," I inquired, "Did you do this?"
"No," Danny said.
"Did something happen last night that I don't remember?"
"I don't think so," he replied.
"Are you sure?" I continued.
"I'm pretty sure I'd know," he replied oh-so-confidently.
"How do you know you'd know?" I pressed.
"I'd know," he tried to reassure me.

At that point, I really wasn't reassured. In fact, I was pretty freaked out. How did this happen? My sleep-walking has definitely gotten out-of-hand. I can't go upstairs.

"I can't go upstairs!" I wailed to Danny.
"Why not?" Obviously he was clueless.
"What if I wandered around like this in the night? What if I said something inappropriate? What if they tried to tell me and I was just unresponsive? What if Dad saw me?" *gasp*

All Danny could do was smirk.

"It's not funny! What happened?! I don't just strip down in the night. And where are my clothes anyway?! Haha. Joke's over. Tell me."

"It wasn't me," he held strong.

Then the oh-so-brilliant thought came to me. I'll ask Rachel. She was still living at home and was in high school.

"Eww!" Rachel shrieked when I asked her.

"This is serious," I said.

"I promise I know nothing," she said.

I hid out the rest of the day from my parents and didn't make eye contact for several more days. Surely if they saw something askew they'd inquire. Right?

I like the new look of your blog! Maybe it's been a while since I've been using Google Reader to see your posts.

That is the weirdest story. I can't think of a single unsolved mystery in my past. I'll have to think about it more.

Are we going to get to find out the end of THAT story? (or do you still not know? :P )

My guess is that Erin came back home just for that prank. That's right up her alley. HAhahHAHhaHa

You don't remember walking downtown that night? Your naked butt was all over the news. Sorry to have to be the one to tell you that.

Hey, Nikki,

I just realized that all of my archives seem to be missing. Did you have that happen? How did you get them back? I saved my former template, but when I tried to load it again, an error message appeared.

Did you get my emails? It's pretty hard to stalk you when you don't even notice! Sheesh!

My unsolved mysteries aren't so interesting...just the usual "black hole" that eats all our missing things.
